The Smart Diabetic

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 30, 2026

The Smart Diabetic (“we”, “us”) is operated by TPC Publishing LLC, doing business as The Smart Diabetic, 8735 Dunwoody Place, Ste N, Atlanta, GA 30350, USA. This policy explains what we collect when you visit thesmartdiabetic.com, buy the guide or subscribe to the newsletter, and what we do with it. Questions: [email protected].

We are not your healthcare provider here

The Smart Diabetic publishes educational material. Buying the guide or subscribing does not make you a patient of Dr. Timothy Conroy, D.C., and what you share with us is not a medical record.

What we collect

What you give us

  • Your name and email address
  • Billing details such as your billing address and, if you give it, your phone number
  • What you bought and when
  • Anything you write to us, such as support emails

Payment details. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

What is collected automatically

  • Your IP address, device and browser type
  • The pages you view and the link or ad that brought you here
  • Information gathered by cookies and pixels (see “Cookies, pixels and ads” below)

We do not ask for your medical information. Please do not send us your lab results, diagnoses or medication lists. Buying a type 2 diabetes guide may suggest an interest in that topic. We treat that as sensitive and handle it as described in “Consumer health data” below.

How we use it

  • To deliver the guide and the newsletter
  • To process payments, renewals and refunds
  • To send emails about your purchase, such as receipts, renewal reminders and cancellation confirmations
  • To answer your questions
  • To send the newsletter and occasional offers (every email has an unsubscribe link)
  • To understand which pages and ads work so we can improve them
  • To prevent fraud, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting duties

Who we share it with

Service providers who run parts of our business for us:

  • HighLevel: website, checkout and email
  • Stripe: payments
  • Our email delivery provider

They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

Advertising and analytics partners. We use, or may use, Meta (Facebook and Instagram). See “Cookies, pixels and ads” below.

Authorities. When the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

A buyer of the business. If the business is sold, your information may transfer to the buyer under this same policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Cookies, pixels and ads

Our site uses, or may use, cookies and tracking pixels, including the Meta Pixel, to measure whether our ads work. These tools can tell an advertising partner that a browser visited this site or completed a purchase. Under some state privacy laws, this counts as “sharing” for targeted advertising.

Opting out:

  • Email [email protected] with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share” and we will stop sending your information to advertising partners.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
  • Adjust your ad preferences in your Meta and Google account settings.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have the guide or an active subscription, and after that only as long as we need it for tax, accounting and legal records, generally up to 7 years for transaction records. We delete or de-identify the rest.

How we protect it

We use reputable providers and limit who can access customer information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live in the US, you can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct it
  • Delete it
  • Give you a copy in a portable format
  • Stop using it for targeted advertising

To ask, email [email protected] from the address you bought with. We will confirm your identity, then respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Consumer health data

This section applies to residents of states with consumer health data laws, including Washington, Nevada and Connecticut. We apply it to all customers.

What we collect. We do not collect diagnoses, lab results or medication information. The consumer health data we hold is limited to this: that you bought a type 2 diabetes guide or subscribed to a type 2 diabetes newsletter, which could suggest a health interest.

Where it comes from. From you, when you buy or subscribe, and from our site's cookies and pixels.

Why we collect it. Only to provide the product you asked for, process payment, send the newsletter, provide support and measure our advertising.

Who we share it with:

  • The service providers listed above, to deliver what you bought
  • Advertising partners, through our site's pixel, as described in “Cookies, pixels and ads” above. You can opt out at any time

We do not sell consumer health data.

Your rights. You can ask to see this data, have it deleted, or withdraw consent for its sharing. Email [email protected].

Children

This site and our products are for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If the change is significant, we will also tell subscribers by email.
